Relaxing in a warm body of water allows you
to feel weightless, due to a change in hyrdostatic
pressure, and can alleviate any dull pains you
may be experiencing.
Upon entering one of our Aquatic Fitness Systems,
your body will adjust to the soothing water
by increasing your heart rate, warming your blood,
dilating your vessels, and allowing blood to
flow freely, lowering your blood pressure.
Our systems are carefully temperature controlled.
Studies have shown that staying in a 104 degree
Fahrenheit
spa can
raise
the
core
body
temperature
to 102 degrees in less than 20 minutes.
Here are some additional benefits:
Muscle relaxation. As the
warmed blood flows deeper into your muscles,
your vessels expand and the muslces relax.
The dilated blood vessels allow the muscles
to rid itself of lactic acid and other metabolic
wastes.
Temporary pain relief. As
your body attempts to regulate your temperature,
the central nervous system becomes depressed,
allowing muscles to relax and temporarily relieve
or lessen minor discomfort.
Bodily cleansing. Your
body beings to rid itself of toxins upon sweating.
As your body warms in your Aquatic Fitness
System, some sweat will be created and cleansed
from your body.
Priming the
muscles. Hot water can relax your
muscles, increasing their range of motion
to allow for stretching
and exercise in your Aquatic Fitness System.
Promotion of healing. The
water current allows more oxygen to be
delivered to an injured area than warm
water alone. Heat
and
pressure
from the current can also raise the
level
of antibodies and white blood cells delivered
to the area, promoting healing.
Help for insomnia. It has been
found that sleep deepens as body temperature
falls.
As a result, some medical experts
recommend that anyone wanting to induce sleep
(especially
those being kept up by pain) soak
in water of approximately 103 degrees Fahrenheit
about
two hours before bedtime.
